Recent images have been acquired using a Canon EOS 20D digital SLR. Macro images have used a Canon MP-E 65mm lens or 100mm macro with extension tubes and a combination of close up filters.

Older images are scanned (via Nikon super coolscan 5000) from transparencies taken on an Olympus OM2n with Tamron 90mm macro lens and a selection of extension tubes and occasional reversed OM 50mm lens. The majority of macro images use flash positioned on or near the lens front (Canon MT-24 EX twin-lite or Olympus T32 flash.)
